How to Prepare for Treatment

When preparing for a treatment you should do the following:

  1. Spend time thinking about why you are coming for the treatment. Prepare to discuss this at the beginning of the treatment. If you have time, send Toni a short email describing your thoughts.

  2. Take a nice long shower and wash your hair.

  3. Finish eating at least two hours before the beginning of your treatment.

  4. Wear loose fitting clothes.

  5. Bring several warm layers including socks and shoes, a long-sleeved shirt, a jacket, hat and scarf for after the treatment. You will need to be able to stay warm, but not sweat so be prepared to work with layering.

  6. Clear your calendar as much as possible for the remainder of the day after your treatment and for several days afterward. The length of time depends on the length of your treatment. If necessary, you can work during this time, but you should keep it to a minimum and definitely not do any physical work.

  7. Do not plan any exercise or other body treatments during the time you are holding the heat in after your treatment. See After Your Treatment for how much time is required.

  8. Do not plan any big event where you will need to be showered and looking your best during the period of time you are holding the heat in.

  9. Plan to slowly return to normal exercise activity levels over a period of several days after you finish holding the heat in.
