Healing Cultures India
Holding integrity across cultures is central to the philosophy of Healing Cultures. We maintain a deep connection to Mukund’s spiritual lineage and the roots of our practice in South India through our connection with the Healing Cultures India Trust in Chennai, India. The Trust is run by Mukund’s mother, Dr. Malini Subramanian. Every year Mukund and Toni go on a pilgrimage to south India and hold a meeting between the two organizations so we can learn from each other’s efforts to bring healing into the world. Through collaboration and connection, we spend time to understand the different ways that healing manifests in the respective cultures. And we also look to create a pathway to healing that we can share. We work to create a new cross-cultural meeting ground that is built on integrity and understands what is means to work with difference and presence at both the individual and cultural level. A core theme of both organizations is: “We are all working on our own healing” so that we can discover a new ground from which we can meet, collaborate and create healing. In the future, we plan to have a broader exchange program for students within the Healing Training programs of both organizations.
Both Healing Cultures and Healing Cultures India Trust, support artists interested in the healing potential of music and performance art. We have had a long partnership with Visalakshi Nityanand, a very talented and well know Carnatic singer, whose work explores the healing potential of devotional music.
